Spider Control for Gauteng Homes
Most local spiders are harmless, but button spiders are venomous. We treat cupboards, skirting boards and curtains, and bushes close to the house, with optional gassing of the roof space.
Signs of infestation
How we treat them
The most common spiders in South Africa are the rain spider (large and harmless), widow or button spiders, whose bites are venomous and require immediate medical treatment, and the baboon spider, whose bite is painful and mildly venomous but not deadly to humans.
Spiders are included in our general crawling insect treatment, which mainly covers ants, cockroaches and spiders, as part of once-off or contractual services.
Widow or button spider bites are venomous and require immediate medical treatment. They are the neurotoxic spiders to recognise in Southern Africa.
Spider control questions
Are all spiders poisonous?
Most local spiders are not poisonous, but they can cause a reaction, which differs from person to person.
How do you treat for spiders?
A combination spray and/or low-volume electric fogging treatment of cupboards, storage containers, skirting boards and curtains, and behind pictures and hanging tapestries, plus spraying of outside bushes and branches close to the house if required. Nupro gassing of the inside roof through the ceiling hatch is optional but recommended.
