Fly Control for Gauteng Businesses & Homes
Flies breed quickly wherever there is a food source. We survey the site, supply and install insect light traps, and supply aerosols and repellents, with treatment of the breeding source where possible.
Where flies gather
How we treat them
Unless in a horse-stable type environment, most home fly-control options are DIY. We supply insecticide aerosol dispensers and refills, fly repellent mixes for surfaces and outdoor flycatcher units.
In food environments, insect light traps can be added. They come in commercial and industrial sizes, can be suspended or wall mounted, and HACCP-friendly units have sleeved light tubes to contain the glass if broken.
Because of the quick, ongoing breeding cycle of flies, mainly permanent measures have to be taken.
Fly control questions
How do we keep flies away?
Unless in a horse-stable type environment, most fly control options are DIY: insecticide aerosol dispensers and refills, fly repellent mixes for surfaces and outdoor flycatcher units. In food environments, insect light traps can be added.
Where should insect light traps be placed?
At 90 degrees to the natural light source, such as the largest window, between potential entry points and production areas, and a maximum of 3 m high. They must not be sited directly above food or other sensitive production areas, or near a fan or air conditioner.
How large an area does an insect light trap cover?
The catch area varies by size from approximately 60 to 180 square metres.
